Funding Opportunities
The Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona offers capacity building grants to nonprofit organizations for the purpose of obtaining Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training for their staff, Board, and volunteers.
The FY24 DEI grant is always open and is in the amount of $1000 per nonprofit organization.
This grant is being offered to nonprofits in Cochise and eastern Santa Cruz counties to promote population health and community wellness that is best achieved when diverse groups of people relate to one another with acceptance and respect, are valued and welcomed for who they are, and are given the same opportunities to grow, contribute, and develop within their community, regardless of their identity.
The grant is for the sole purpose of DEI training. The organization may select the DEI training that works best for them.
Our committee considers each application seriously. Due to the large number of requests we receive, it may take up to 4 months for you to hear from us with a determination. We may not respond to your application if it does not meet our criteria for consideration. Determination is made on a case-by-case basis, depending on factors like mission alignment and availability of funds. Grants typically range from $500-$2000.
Special consideration is given to programs with transdisciplinary approaches and addressing the needs of youth, who are disadvantaged economically, geographically, culturally, environmentally, or through gender conformity expectations. Applying trans-disciplinary skills to real problems to enable career opportunities
Programs with a focus on youth 7 to 19 years of age
Special consideration for programs targeting youth, who are disadvantaged economically, geographically, culturally, environmentally, or through gender conformity expectations
Asterion Foundation™ provides microgrants for astronomy research and outreach projects throughout the United States. Asterion supports schools, universities, libraries, planetaria, observatories, museums and science clubs. Grants typically range between $500 and $5,000. Some awards are partial grants for lead sponsorship, matching fundraisers and finishing funds.
By their own initiative, past and present directors of the foundation have propelled special outreach programs such as the distribution of free solar eclipse glasses and the 50th Anniversary Apollo Moon Landing poster contest for students. Your organization can also apply to fund projects such as these. Do you have a project that we can help lift off?
Many of our previous grant recipients have been involved in the topic of meteoritics, such as meteorite exhibits at museums, all-night meteor camera detectors (CAMS), and paleo-astronomy through the study of microtektites in fossilized mollusks. In 2019, our directors voted to make the area of meteoritics our chief interest. However, we will gladly review other applications pertaining to astronomy research and outreach.

We believe that ambitious, rural-centric, climate grantmaking is needed now more than ever. That’s why our grant program is designed to provide critical funding and resources to grantees that are taking practical, community-focused and innovative actions to implement equitable climate solutions in rural America.
Enabling our grantees to focus on driving meaningful change in rural communities is paramount at Rural Climate Partnership. With the combined strength of pooled resources from foundations & donors, we offer general operating and project support grants to bolster the work of rural-led and rural-serving organizations. Our funding typically ranges from $20,000 to $100,000 for projects and from $75,000 to $150,000 for general operating support.
This program helps very small, financially distressed rural communities with predevelopment feasibility studies, design and technical assistance on proposed water and waste disposal projects.
