Community Champions Showcase

Daune Cardenas, a member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, is the CEO of the Pascua Yaqui Development Corporation (PYDC).

Although a recent starter in the professional EJ field, I've fostered a passion for the environment, equity, and community naturally through my Samoan culture and with joining the science and solar clubs in grade school.

I am a Mexican American student at Napa Valley College, studying Environmental Science and Anthropology. As the founder and president of the Environmental Science Club, I’ve created a space for students to learn about sustainability, environmental justice, and reconnecting with nature.

Marshall Morgan Fabara is from the borderland community of Santa Cruz County, Arizona, and brings an extensive background in Sustainability and EJ advocacy for the representation of Latino and Indigenous communities, environmental education, and mental well-being/health.

Ya’at’eeh, my name is Sharyl Begay. I am Bitter Water born for Near the Water. My maternal grandparents are Many Goats and my paternal grandparents are Giant People Red Running Into the Water. I am Diné (Navajo), and I originally am from Black Mesa, Arizona.
