Estrellita Gil

I am a Mexican American student at Napa Valley College, studying Environmental Science and Anthropology. As the founder and president of the Environmental Science Club, I’ve created a space for students to learn about sustainability, environmental justice, and reconnecting with nature. Through projects like revitalizing our campus garden, hosting workshops, and organizing guest speaker events with professionals from different areas of environmental science, I aim to make environmental education engaging and accessible.
I also participated in an on-campus internship analyzing soil and presented findings on landslide risks and climate impacts to the school community. This experience deepened my understanding of how environmental challenges affect people and reinforced my commitment to finding sustainable solutions.
I am dedicated to promoting environmental leadership and advocating for equity, especially for vulnerable communities. I believe education and awareness are key to addressing climate issues, and I hope to empower others to take meaningful action for climate justice.
